It's A Boy! Prince William And Kate Middleton Welcome Their Third Child
Welcome to the family, little prince!
Prince George and Princess Charlotte have a new baby brother!
Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomed their third child, a boy, on Monday morning.
“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs,” Kensington Palace announced in a statement. “The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.”
“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news,” the statement continued. “Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
The new little prince — now fifth in line to the throne — doesn't have a name yet, but Albert and Arthur are both favored by British oddsmakers.
Prince William departed St. Mary's Hospital in London a few hours after the birth to pick up the couple's two other children so that they could meet the newest member of the family.
As is tradition, Kate and William will likely bring their newborn outside for a few minutes to meet the public and pose for some photos. Royal fans are already gathered outside the hospital in hopes of catching a glimpse of the newest member of the family.
