Lea Michele Shares Tribute to Cory Monteith Two Years After the 'Glee' Star's Death
"We think of you always and love you so."
Two years ago today, Glee star Cory Monteith passed away of a drug overdose. Despite "intermittent periods of rehabilitation and of abstinence from drugs," the Canadian actor was discovered unresponsive in Vancouver.
In 2011, Monteith opened up about his addiction with Parade, stating that he used "anything and everything, as much as possible," and that rehabilitative efforts had been attempted and failed.
Today, fellow Glee star and then-girlfriend Lea Michele posted the photo above, as well as a short message:
"Today we remember the laughter and joy you brought into our lives every day. We think of you always and love you so."
Last year, Michele shared with Seventeen that she didn't see Monteith as his addiction and that she "only [has] happy memories of Cory," a man who made her feel "like a queen every day."
The hashtag "2YearsWithoutCory" is now trending on Twitter.
