Movie soundtracks are some of the most beloved albums ever made. The greatest ones (A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Purple Rain) usually feature original songs written especially for the films. However, there's another sub-category of soundtracks that are arguably more beloved by fans. These are the movie mixtapes—the soundtracks that borrow pop songs and make them their own. The practice dates back decades and is more popular now than ever. As each generation turns over, a new opportunity to introduce Eric Claption or ELO to new audiences arises. These are the greatest modern movie mixtapes. (We're counting "modern" movies as any made after 1990).
