Introducing Judith Hill, 'The Voice' Season 4's Early Standout

(Getty Images)We're only one episode deep into the fourth season of The Voice, but it's already pretty clear who the front-runner is this time around: Judith Hill.

Like several of the other contestants, Judith was introduced with a heartwrenching backstory about her road to reality television stardom, only hers was a little different from the others — it involved a superstar.

Hill, who had been touring as a backup singer for a French pop star named Michel Polnareff, was called out of relative obscurity to sing a duet with Michael Jackson at his This Is It concerts in 2009. It was, of course, the opportunity of a lifetime, and Hill was "completely crushed" when Jackson passed away before the show's London debut. Though offers flooded in after she sang the lead on "Heal the World" at Jackson's memorial service, Hill felt it wasn't the right time or place to kickstart a career.

The child of professional musicians, Hill has way more experience than most of her fellow competitors. It's hard not to wonder if it's really fair to pit a professional against some of the less polished talents on this season's roster. As Shakira mentioned just after Hill demolished Christina Aguilera's "What a Girl Wants" in her blind audition, it's clear she'll see her name in lights with or without the show.

Do you think any of Judith Hill's competitors stand a chance? Sound off in the comments!
