(Bauer Griffin)more pics »It seems as though those that Destiny's Child reunion may have been a bit premature, or at the very least, someone forgot to tell Michelle Williams she was supposed to be at the Super Bowl this Sunday.
Shortly after it was announced that Beyonce would be headlining the 2013 halftime show, word spread that she would be joined by her former Destiny's Child mates (Williams and Kelly Rowland) for a special perfromance. US magazine even released a set list, apparently confirming the threesome would sing a medley of their biggest hits, as well as a new song called "Nuclear."
Unfortunately for DC fans, Williams says the Super Bowl reunion gig isn't happening. As she told WRUG Media at an event last Wednesday, "That's not confirmed. It is rumored. I'm going to be in the musical Fela! I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it's not true."
Williams is set to headline the Tony Award-winning play, which is scheduled for two shows in the nation's capital (3pm and 8pm) on Super Bowl Sunday, making it pretty much impossible for her to get to New Orleans for halftime.
Though there is some good news: That new song, "Nuclear," that's actually going to happen. It will appear on Destiny's Child — Love Songs, a greatest hits compilation of the group's most romantic recordings to date. You can find it in stores on Tuesday (Jan. 29).
