USC Confirms Lori Loughlin’s Daughters Are Still Enrolled At The University Despite Bribery Scandal

A USC representative confirmed the Giannulli sisters are still students at the university — for now.

USC Confirms That Lori Loughlin’s Daughters Are Still Enrolled At The University

It's been a rough couple of weeks for Olivia Jade and Isabella Giannulli — the daughters of Fuller House actress Lori Loughlin and fashion mogul Mossimo Giannulli — considering Loughlin and Giannulli are entrenched in the biggest college admissions scandal in history. The sisters, who are students at the University of Southern California, are under fire for gaining admission to the school because their parents paid around $500,000 to ensure their recruitment by the school's rowing team. Neither girl is listed on the USC women’s rowing roster, nor do they have recorded backgrounds in the sport.

When reports of the scandal broke, it was reported Olivia Jade and Isabella dropped out of USC to avoid being ridiculed by their peers. But on Friday, NBC News confirmed per a USC representative that the young women are still bonafide students of the university — at least, for the time being.

"We have confirmed that both Olivia Giannulli and Isabella Giannulli still are enrolled,'' Ron Mackovich, media relations specialist of the university, told NBC in a statement. "USC is conducting a case-by-case review for current students and graduates that may be connected to the scheme alleged by the government and will make informed decisions as those reviews are completed."

While the Giannulli sisters remain enrolled at USC during the review period, neither have attended classes. A source close to them told People they have no plans of returning to school.

"Although classes have resumed at USC, Olivia and Bella are not back at school. They don’t plan to return to USC. Right now, they are just focused on getting through this ordeal," the unnamed source said. "The girls are not talking about future plans. They are more focused on what’s next for their parents. They are living in the moment and that’s all they can do right now. For them, this is all still a nightmare."

Olivia Jade, the younger of the two sisters, reportedly expressed anger towards her parents for damaging her YouTube career. The influencer, who has 1.4 million followers on Instagram and almost 2 million subscribers on YouTube, was reportedly unhappy that her parents forced her to go to college in the first place. Her priorities seem to lie on growing her vlogging career (in multiple videos, she repeatedly expressed aversion towards school), and now it could all be taken away. Meanwhile, Bella, who was "far more invested in college" is upset she might not get to finish her education at USC.

"[Olivia Jade] is really angry with her parents because she told them she did not want to go to college and she was pushed. She has been passionate about her career and wanted to work and was doing well but that wasn't enough," the source told Entertainment Tonight. "Her parents said she would have to juggle college and her career. Now she's devastated because everything she built implode before her eyes. She feels they ruined everything."

Loughlin and Giannulli are among the 50 people facing charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud. They were detained and released on $1 million bonds, and are set to appear in federal court on April 3. Netflix recently announced Loughlin will no longer appear in Fuller House's fifth and final season, while the Hallmark Channel severed ties with the actress. Olivia Jade also lost a number of brand partnerships. Beauty companies including Sephora, TRESemmé, and Estée Lauder have distanced themselves from the influencer.
