It's the McDreamy Effect: Patrick Dempsey and Wife Jillian Have Called Off Their Divorce
Here's a little bit of good news: The former 'Grey's Anatomy' star and his wife are no longer calling it quits.
2016 has been a terrible year for celebrity relationships, but in one somewhat miraculous event, Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey and wife Jillian Fink have turned their marriage around and called off their own divorce.
Fink, who has been married to Dempsey for 17 years, is dismissing her previously filed divorce papers, according to Us Weekly. The papers, filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court, were officially thrown out Thursday, November 10 after Fink's request the previous week.
In January 2015, Fink filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. At the time, she requested joint custody of 14-year-old daughter Tallula and 9-year-old twins Sullivan and Darby. In following months, however, no further steps were taken to abolish the marriage. Now, the divorce is entirely off the table.
The couple has remained mum regarding their personal struggles, though Dempsey briefly addressed their reconciliation during a September interview with People.
"Our marriage was not something I was prepared to let go of," he said. "I didn’t feel like we had done all the work. And we both wanted to do that work. That’s where it started."
While Fink enjoys a career as a professional makeup artist, Dempsey is best known for his role as Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd on Grey's Anatomy. More recently, he appeared in Bridget Jones's Baby and will appear in upcoming drama The Postcard Killings alongside actress Dakota Fanning.
