No, this isn’t a McDream.

Patrick Dempsey is slated to return to the small screen, and we couldn’t be more excited! This will mark the actor’s first television role since Dr. Derek Shepherd bit the dust rather brutally on Grey’s Anatomy. (Yeah, we’re still not over it, Shonda Rhimes!)

Dempsey will next star in Epix’s murder-mystery show The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair which is set to be a 10-part series based on Joël Dicker’s novel of the same name. The series chronicles Harry Querbert’s life as he’s being indicted for the murder of the teenage girl who was found on his property years after her disappearance. Dempsey will play the titular role of Harry Quebert, who is regarded as a literary icon on the show.

New Girl alum Damon Wayans Jr. will portray Sgt. Perry Gahalowood — the head police investigator looking into the murder of the girl, Nola Kellergan, who also happened to serve as Harry’s literary muse. Meanwhile, Virginia Madsen (Designated Survivor) will play a local diner owner who has collected several juicy secrets about Harry.

Other cast members of the new Epix series include Colm Feore (House of Cards), Ben Schnetzer (Snowden), John Close (Person of Interest), Wayne Knight (Seinfeld), and Matt Frewer (Max Headroom).

Since leaving Grey’s Anatomy after his 11-season stint, Dempsey went onto star in the Love Actually mini-sequel, Bridget Jones’s Baby, and a 2016 Cigna Health Insurance commercial that lampooned TV physicians.
