Jennifer Connelly's Weight Loss Explained

Many have found Connelly's weight loss alarming. Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Connelly, 38, is one of the most stunning women in the business, and it's no surprise that the most cutting edge designers scramble to dress her for red carpet events. Ms. Connelly has been looking especially modelesque in her red carpet dresses in the past year--and not necessarily in a good way.


There's been a lot of speculation about Connelly's gaunt face and stick-thin legs. In last week's issue of OK!, her husband, actor Paul Bettany, disclosed the reason for his wife's dramatic weight loss:
I will tell you...my wife just lost her father.
Jennifer's father, who accompanied her to the 2002 Academy Awards, died in September. Connelly has maintained a busy schedule since his passing, with whirlwind promotion for The Day the Earth Stood Still and He's Just Not That Into You. Hopefully she's making sure to take the time she needs to care for herself.
