The newly named Duchess of Sussex got her big break in 2011 when she was cast as Rachel Zane in USA's Suits. The show's Season 7 finale, which ended with Rachel's wedding to Mike (Patrick J. Adams), was a fantastic precursor to the start of her life with Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. A number of Markle’s co-stars attended the couple's wedding on May 19, 2018, and flocked to — where else? — social media to share memories of their beloved friend.

When the engagement was announced in November 2017, Sarah Rafferty was quick to Tweet her congratulations.

So was Markle's Suits husband, Patrick J. Adams, who's been vocal about his love and admiration for Markle since the beginning.

On the eve of the royal wedding, Adams took to social media once again to reflect on his friendship with the actress and the monumental changes in her life. He followed it up on Saturday with a story of his grandparents, who also wed in Windsor, England, seven decades ago.

"Going to bed now and thinking a lot about the strange surreal and wonderful day my friend Meghan is going to have tomorrow," Adams shared. "Meghan - wherever you are - we are so grateful to be here to watch you both take this monumental step together. Love deeply and live well."

"70 years ago my grandparents, Patricia and Cedric Marsh were married in a small service in Windsor, England. Just found that out. Already getting misty..." he wrote.

Rick Hoffman shared a touching memory of Markle offering to join him for a French wedding when he didn’t have a date, and told viewers how much fun they had together in Paris.

"I didn’t know anything about the 18 — or 17 — arrondissements," he said. "And Meghan was like, oh we’re going to all 18 today!"

And, naturally, Gabriel Macht wished Markle a happy wedding day in style.

"Congrats to Meghan and Prince Harry on your nuptials. Enjoyed meeting many of your family and friends and an incredible honor to be a part of the whole celebration," the actors wrote. "May your journey together be full of love and children. Cheers!"

While Markle won't be returning to acting, her new title means an elevated platform. Now more than ever, she has the status and resources she needs to make change in the areas of gender, and race equality.

Goodbye Rachel Zane, hello Duchess of Sussex!
