'Once Upon a Time' Casts Gaston

Will Belle choose Gaston over Rumple?

When Once Upon a Time returns, Gaston will look a lot different than the last time you saw him. The popular ABC show decided to recast the role after Sage Brocklebank briefly took it on in season one. Don't worry because his replacement is just as chiseled as you'd expect him to be! Wes Brown will now portray Belle's (Emilie De Ravin) boorish suitor in an episode that will primarily focus on her past. Brown previously starred on True Blood, Deception, 90210, and Hart of Dixie.

The forthcoming episode should be very exciting since much of Belle's narrative has revolved around Rumple (Robert Carlyle), and their constant break-ups and make-ups are getting a bit too much. In fact, Once Upon a Time could easily experiment with the Beauty & the Beast story since it has already done so with many other fairytales. Although the flashback episode featuring Belle and Gaston does not have an official release date, it will air towards the end of season five.
