Sam Smith and John Legend Join Forces on 'Lay Me Down' for Charity

John Legend + Sam Smith + a good cause = gold.

If your heart has already been sufficiently melted by Chris Evans and Chris Pratt's visit with sick kids at Seattle Children's Hospital this weekend, here are two more stars to give you the feels for a good cause. John Legend and Sam Smith recorded a duet of the British singer's hit "Lay Me Down" and all proceeds will go directly to charity.

The video debuted today and, as expected, the dudes made a fantastic team. We'd probably never listen to Beyonce again if they recorded an entire album together.

"Lay Me Down" will be the official tune of Red Nose Day, a British charity event that goes down every two years and includes people wearing clown noses to raise awareness and money for Comic Relief. The UK charity aims to "bring about positive and lasting change in the lives of poor and disadvantaged people." If you're wondering, yes, the guys have already taken pictures in their red noses ahead of the festivities:

Smith is a big supporter of Comic Relief in London and talked about the tune in a statement: "'Lay Me Down' holds a very special place in my heart. Not only did I perform it at the Brits, I'm now going to perform it live on the Red Nose Day show with the extremely talented John Legend, which is so exciting. I recently visited a Comic Relief funded project in my hometown, which supports the young LGBT community in London. I'm extremely proud that my single will help raise money for projects like this and many others in the U.K. and across Africa."

Mr. Legend chimed in as well: "Sam is such a talented artist. We've been looking forward to working together for a while now. I'm so glad we could collaborate on such a great song and for such a great cause."

You can download the "Lay Me Down" duet on all digital retailers and Red Nose Day is March 13 this year.
