Sarah Jessica Parker Puts the Kibosh on 'Hocus Pocus 2'
Parker says the sequel rumors are "just talk."
Around this time of year, you can be certain of many things: every visit to the grocery store is a temptation, there will be some sort of candy shortage in your household despite the seemingly endless bags of sweets, and we probably aren't getting a Hocus Pocus sequel any time soon.
On Monday, the world freaked when Pocus alum and leading witch Bette Midler (Winifred) tweeted some potentially game-changing sequel-suggestive words to the public.
Fellow witch Kathy Najimy (Mary) quickly nipped the rumoresque tweeting in the behind, telling Midler to "stop spreading bogus rumors" and quit it with the shenanigans. At the time, however, we hadn't heard from third and most flighty witch Sarah Jessica Parker (Sarah). Now, SJP has spoken up.
In a brief interview with Vulture on the Sylvia red carpet, Parker said that the so-called sequel talk was a bunch of interweb baloney.
“I think it’s just on the World Wide Web,” she said at the opening night of husband Matthew Broderick's play. “We’ve all been exchanging funny, not-reality-based messages to one another. [That’s] as much as I know."
So, as devastating as it is, looks like another year, another 365 days without the return of the Sanderson sisters.
