Sarah Jessica Parker to Star in TV Police Thriller

SJP is back! Except this time she's ditching the Manolos and using her laptop to fight for justice.

Variety reports that the Sex and the City star will spearhead a TV thriller based on the non-fiction book Busted: A Tale Of Corruption and Betrayal in the City of Brotherly Love. Parker will play a Philadelphia Daily News reporter (either Wendy Ruderman or Barbara Laker) who struggles to expose one of the biggest police corruptions in Philadelphia’s history.

While we're certainly going to miss the puns and perkiness of our favorite fashionista Carrie Bradshaw, the series should show off a more serious side of Parker that we are dying to see more of (think SATC movie Mexico-honeymoon-stoicism).
