Melissa Benoist Joins Jennifer Morrison's Directorial Debut, 'Sun Dogs'
The 'Supergirl' and 'Once Upon a Time' stars are teaming up for the big screen.
What happens when a superhero meets The Savior?
Magic, of course! The leading ladies of Supergirl and Once Upon a Time are collaborating in a big way. Melissa Benoist has joined Jennifer Morrison's directorial debut, Sun Dogs. The comedy also features an impressive cast, including Michael Angarano (The Knick), Allison Janney (Mom), and Ed O'Neil (Modern Family).
Sun Dogs centers around a young misfit named Ned who repeatedly fails to join the Marines. During his last failed interview, Ned takes a Marine officer's advice too literally when he is told to “protect the homefront.” With the help of a young runaway, Tally (Benoist), Ned decides to take down a devious casino manager who could also possibly be a terrorist.
Morrison recently created Apartment 3C Productions alongside Andrew Carlberg. Sun Dogs will be the first film produced by the company.
