Keanu Reeves Reveals The Title Of 'John Wick 3' — But What The Heck Does 'Parabellum' Mean?
Summit Entertainment

The third installment of the wildly entertaining John Wick franchise doesn't hit theaters until next May, but Keanu Reeves, a man of many talents, is already giving us something to buzz about. In a recent interview with ComingSoon, the actor revealed the official title of the upcoming film — John Wick 3: Parabellum.

When asked what "parabellum" referred to, Reeves responded, "Prepare for war. It’s part of that famous sentence, "Si vis pacem, para bellum," which translates as, "If you want peace, prepare for war." It looks like someone is super down with Publius Flavius Vegetius Renatus. Better start practicing your pronunciation

Reeves also gave a bit more insight into Halle Berry's mysterious role in the film. "John Wick is fighting for his life and thinks that Halle Berry’s character has some information for him. They have a past, and they get involved with The High Table, this kind of overlording entity."

The film will see the return of Ian McShane, Common, Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick, and Ruby Rose. John Wick newcomers Angelica Huston, Asia Kate Dillon, Mark Dacascos, and Jason Mantzouka will also star. No word yet on what sort of drama Buster will cause (if any) this time around.

John Wick 3: Parabellum arrives May 17, 2019.
