When asked by the magazine whether he thought Ned could be written back in through some supernatural twist, Sean was enthusiastic.
"Maybe there’s hope for Ned yet! They can do anything," he said. "Anything can happen. It’s a very complex show. Very multilayered. And even the most absurd thing is believable. They’re about to start up again, and I’m feeling a twinge of envy, because the saga gets to go on without me. I’m doing something else now, but sometimes I go, 'Aw, s---, bring me back.'"
On losing his head, Sean said it was strange holding his own dummy noggin in his hands. "It’s a dummy of my head. I was holding it at one point, which was a really creepy feeling, to hold my head and look at it. It was very heavy, just like a proper head!"

Sean also commented on Game of Thrones Season 2 speculation that his death (like say Dumbledore's in the Harry Potter series) will push the younger characters to do great things.
"You start with Ned Stark, Lord of Winterfell, who’s strong when he’s introduced and gets weaker and weaker as he goes along, physically and psychologically, because he’s in this corrupt environment, in this real den of snakes, which gets him in the end, and someone else is going to have to take his place."
Another Game of Thrones player, Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen, also opened up about her dragon-tastic ending in the first season's finale while speaking with MTV.
"You see the relationship that Dany has with her eggs, and you see that grow and grow and grow and kind of the intuitive connection she has with them, you see that develop really beautifully," she said. "And then the end is the end. That [was] pretty awesome too."
Clarke assured fans of the next season: "I get to play with some more dragons!"
