(Getty Images)more pics »Serena Williams managed to defend her title today at Wimbledon by beating Vera Zvonareva to take the ladies' singles title. It's her 13th Grand Slam win, and 4th Wimbledon title. Serena won the match 6-3 6-2 in just 67 minutes, and sent her racket soaring into the air to celebrate the victory, while her opponent choked back tears.

Billie Jean, I got you," Serena said to the former tennis champ, who was there watching from the Royal Box today (via LA Times). "I'd like to congratulate Vera, she has been through so much and she defines what a champion and never giving up means."
Zvonareva, of Russia, congratulated her opponent after the match: "Congratulations, you're a great player but also a great champion. You showed great determination throughout the week and you deserved to win today."
