London's 2012 Summer Olympics will be a very stylish affair indeed! Stella McCartney has named Adidas' creative director over Britain's Olympic and Paralympic uniforms. Stella has, of course, showed her athletic prowess in her Adidas by Stella McCartney designs. But this partnership marks the first time a luxury designer will create athletic uniforms for the venerated games. Stella is honored:

As a British fashion designer it is an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be creative director of Team GB as the hosting nation of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

If the Stella McCartney line and the Adidas collaboration are any indication, Britain's outfits are likely to be amazing. With this news, will other designers rise to the Olympic challenge? While Ralph Lauren will again designs team America's opening ceremony attire, no one has stepped up to style up the competitive gear. Perhaps Alexander Wang for the US, Karl Lagerfeld for France and Miuccia Prada for Italy?

Who would you like to see designing the athletic kits for the Olympics?
