Fox's 'Lucifer' Was Canceled And I Don't Think I'll Ever Be The Same
#SaveLucifer or bust.
Do you feel that? That's that emotional sting of more of your favorite TV shows getting the axe...
While the internet was still mourning the sudden and unexpected loss of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Fox revealed Friday it was canceling yet another one of its fan-favorite series: Lucifer, the offbeat supernatural cop procedural. Life is just not fair.
The series, which is currently in its third season, stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Rachael Harris, Tricia Helfer, and, more recently, Smallville's Tom Welling. Though Lucifer wasn't the most believable show on TV — it does centers around a roguish devil who decides to leave hell, move to L.A, and randomly help a local detective solve murders — it was fun... real fun.
In the wake of the show's cancelation, Lucifer showrunner Joe Henderson took to Twitter to confirm that Fox's decision "f--king hurts," and encourage fans to tweet with the hashtag #SaveLucifer, which, naturally, began trending on Twitter.
Ellis seemed humbled by the efforts.:
So, what does this all mean for next week's Season 3 finale? Well, it means fans can probably expect to feel more heartbreak, pain, and frustration — lots of it. The TV gods can be so cruel:
Yeah, so #SaveLucifer or bust... Or, at least give them the chance to keep the good times going. Hulu, where you at?
