Get out your summer calendars, because the new season of True Blood officially has a premiere date!
HBO announced on Friday that the sexy vampire drama will debut its 10-episode sixth season on Sunday, June 16 at 9/8c.
In addition to Eric, Sookie, Bill, and the rest of the gang, the upcoming season of True Blood will welcome some fresh meat to Bon Temps. Brothers and Sisters' Luke Grimes and House's Karolina Wydra were both cast this week in recurring roles.
Grimes will play James, a ’70s-made vampire who is described as "smart, spiritual, and emotionally deeper than any other bloodsucker we’ve seen before." James is said to give off a Jim Morrison vibe and is the object of every woman's fantasies. Wydra, meanwhile, will play Violet, a strong, sexy vamp who can go toe to toe with the likes of Bill and Eric.
Also joining True Blood this season is Rutger Hauer (as a mysterious figure with ties to Sookie and Jason), Arliss Howard (as Louisiana Governor Truman Burrell), Friday Night Lights alum Jurnee Smollett-Bell (as nice girl Nicole), and 90210‘s Amelia Rose Blaire (as the Governor's daughter).
