Are you ready to meet yet another doppelganger?
E! Online reports that Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev is set to cross over to The Originals this season. She won't be playing one of the three — yes, three! — characters we've already seen on TVD, though. No, the ever-impressive Dobrev will be playing Tatia, the original doppelganger who was mentioned on the show way back in Season 3 and has never been seen. Tatia's role in the Mikealson brother saga will be revealed in flashbacks during the November 3 episode of The Originals.
“There was a character's name introduced a long time ago in season three in association with Klaus [Joseph Morgan] and Elijah [Daniel Gillies] and how they became vampires and a girl that they both loved a long time ago who was the original doppelganger, Tatia,” TVD/Originals executive producer Julie Plec explained. “The character of Tatia is part of their history... It's something we brought up a long time ago and never paid off."
Just so we're clear, Nina Dobrev has played beloved girl next door turned vampire Elena Gilbert (who, despite the looks of this adorable GIF, spends at least 50% of her time in tears)...
...the fiercely fabulous Katherine Pierce
And first immortal woman Amara, who had a rough time adjusting to the modern world after 2,000 years in a box...
So yeah, we're pretty excited to see what she does with Tatia. Hit the comments below with your own thoughts on this latest Vampire Diaries/Originals crossover news!
