The Scariest Part of the 'AHS: Cult' Premiere Was Reliving Election Night
If we're being honest.
Clowns? Not a fan. Clusters of tiny holes? Meh, take 'em or leave 'em. Reliving the election? Pure horror. American Horror Story: Cult nailed it right on the head.
Freshman episodes aren't known for jam-packed action, especially on AHS. Sadly, this paved the way for Cult's portrayal of election night to dominate as the scariest scene the 49-minute episode had to offer.
It's not that clowns chasing unarmed women through deserted grocery stores isn't terrifying. I'm not going to pretend like I wouldn't dive straight into the cantaloupes if I saw what Sarah Paulson's Ally saw that night, I don't care who's humping next to them. Targeted murders of innocent citizens by way of insane clown posse also make for bone-chilling scenes, granted. But on Tuesday, AHS proved what we all know to be legit: truth is scarier than fiction.
Cult's characters may be pure satire, but the election happened exactly as it was portrayed. For some, that's harder to relive than watching a few killer clowns run amok.
