The Voice – Season 4, Episode 17 (NBC)more pics »Shakira has proved herself a lovable, if uncritical coach on her debut season of The Voice, providing an interesting foil to Christina Aguilera's more discriminating persona. But the Colombian singer has just confirmed that her stint in the big red chair is just temporary — she's not coming back next season.
"It was a hard decision for me to make, because I’m really fond of the coaches, the people in production and everybody around me," the performer told E! News. "And I really enjoyed ‘The Voice,’ but I also have a musical career and I’m also a mother now and my poor baby’s so tired flying such long distances. He already has more miles than any pilot!"
"So I think I have to give him a little break, and we’ll see what happens in the future," she explained.
Christina Aguilera, who took a hiatus from the show to promote her album Lotus, is confirmed to return.
