'American Idol' Top 9 Results: Who Got Eliminated?

Yesterday, all their troubles seemed so far away...

After a performance episode that included a few show-stopping Beatles numbers and Nicki Minaj getting bleeped, it was time to send someone to the cold, dark world of Idol oblivion, aka back home. So who got the boot and who lives on to sing another day?

Ryan Seacrest tried to toy with the contestants for as long as humanly possible (seriously, these elimination episodes are like some form of cruel and unusual punishment), but in the end Paul Jolley, Devin Velez, and Amber Holcomb(!) were sent to the Bottom 3 stools of doom. Despite a very lackluster performance, Lazaro Arbos managed to squeak by thanks to his devoted (if possibly tone deaf) fan base.

After performances from former Idol finalists Casey Abrams and Jessica Sanchez (who, it should be noted, looked like a million bucks), Seacrest revealed that Paul "I Want to Be the Male Taylor Swift" Jolley had received the lowest number of votes. No surprises here, the judges declined to use the Judges' Save on the country crooner. Farewell, Mr. Jolley. You seem like a genuinely sweet guy.

Were you shocked to see Paul go home so early? And what did you think of Casey and Jessica's performances? Little Miss Sanchez sure looked like a legit pop star singing next to Ne-Yo, didn't she? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments below!
