Bindi Irwin Wins 'Dancing with the Stars' Season 21 with Partner Derek Hough
Bindi Irwin is Australia's darling, America's sweetheart, and now, winner of Dancing with the Stars.
Irwin and partner Derek Hough took home the Mirror Ball trophy Tuesday night while fellow competitor, singer Nick Carter, went home with second place. Third place went to American hero Alek Skarlatos.
The 17-year-old has won hearts this season with her sweet disposition, infectious laugh, heartfelt performances, and the occasional tribute to late father Steve Irwin. Episode after episode, she was a standout in both ability and effort, her adorable personality only sealing her ultimate success.
For their final freestyle, the duo opted for a beautiful performance of "Footprints in the Sand."
As for her coach and partner, Hough, this marks his seventh win on the show to date.
Their final performance scored a perfect 30, judge Carrie Ann Inaba being sure to include that it was "a perfect way to end this season," all "because of you, Bindi Irwin," while co-judge Julianne Hough labeled it the best season finale in the show's history.
