Hot Patootie! Here's the First Look at the Cast of 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' Remake
Let's do the time warp again, everyone!
Are you ready for this?
Many fans were perplexed when FOX announced a remake of the 1975 cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show as a two-hour TV extravaganza. Could such a feat actually be successfully executed? Well, we'll just have to wait and see what happens. Based on the first pictures released from the revamped project, things certainly look like they are turning out A-okay.
Check out the new photos below.
Here, Brad (Ryan McCartan) and Janet (Victoria Justice) are stranded in the middle of a storm and must take shelter in Dr. Frank-N-Furter's imaginative castle. Oh, this is the beginning of a beautiful journey.
“There’s definitely a major sexual awakening and one that I haven’t explored on screen yet. I’m excited about it!” Justice said about her experience working on The Rocky Horror Picture Show remake.
"We were on set and a reporter saw me and said I looked like the love child of Grace Jones and David Bowie. I said ‘That’s exactly right.’ I think we mix up the look more than they did in the original," Cox stated. "It’s inspired by the original but it’s really our own take. It’s way more elaborate and couture. [Director] Kenny Ortega had this vision that Frank was at this old theater and found these old burlesque costumes and is, like, using them and wearing them now but has altered them a bit."
Frank's minions are still hotter and crazier than ever. Magenta (Christina Milian), Riff Raff (Reeve Carney), and Columbia (Annaleigh Ashford) all do a bang up job of welcoming Brad and Janet into their abode. Clearly, “Time Warp” is an even brighter dance number in the remake.
Of course, then there's mad scientist Frank's epic creation: Rocky (Staz Nair). "I’m wearing these nice, sexy knee-high platform boots and a gold latex bathing suit," Nair said in regards to his wardrobe. "I felt very sassy and I owned it."
Tim Curry will return, but this time he'll play the Narrator. “The first day of rehearsals in Los Angeles, Tim listened to me sing every song from the show,” stated Cox. “That was really intimidating. I had to sing in front of the man who made all these songs iconic. It’s just a gift he’s involved in our production.”
We feel you, girl.
