See the First Trailer for HBO's 'Westworld'
The unique western sci-fi series will star Anthony Hopkins.
Anthony Hopkins, James Marsden, and Evan Rachel Wood will star in HBO's upcoming Westworld remake. Bad Robot Productions (J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk) is behind the series, which appeared in its original version in 1973.
The story, written by novelist Michael Crichton, takes place in a futuristic western land called Westworld, which represents only one of the three lands that amusement park Delos is comprised of. In the original version, lifelike androids within Westworld experience a malfunction, becoming murderous and uncontrollable, leaving visitors to fend for themselves in what has quite literally become the wild west.
In the new series, Hopkins will portray Dr. Robert Ford, creative director of Westworld, while Marsden plays Teddy Flood, gun-toting bachelor and park visitor. Wood will fill the role of Dolores Abernathy, a citizen of Westworld who is faced with the fact that nothing she's been led to believe about her world is accurate.
