The '90210' Reunion Series Is Happening, With Or Without Dylan And Brenda
Luke Perry and Shannen Doherty are currently not part of the "six-episode event series." For shame!
The 90210 reunion series (sorry, not a reboot) is officially in the works over at Fox, and it's not exactly what we expected. The "six-episode event series" will star Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, and recently unmasked Masked Singer Tori Spelling. They won't be playing their original characters from the popular '90s teen drama, but rather "heightened versions of themselves" who try to get a Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot going. What a twist. Also, so meta.
Per the official description:
90210, coming this summer, will be the sixth installment in the Beverly Hills, 90210 franchise (which includes Melrose Place, Models Inc., and the 2000s Shenae Grimes-starring teen drama of the same name 90210).
But the even bigger news and travesty are the two names that are currently not attached to this project, most notably Archie Andrews' dad on Riverdale aka Dylan McKay aka Luke Perry, and Shannen Doherty who played Brenda. EW notes that "the door is open" if they both decide to jump aboard, and we sure hope they do. Honestly, a 90210 reunion event won't be the same without them.
