Many words have been used to describe wide receiver Terrell Owens: talented, controversial, amazing, but never unemployed -- until now. In a surprising decision the Dallas Cowboys released the 35-year-old this week and sent him on his way.
In an official statement Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said:
This is a decision based on consideration for an entire team. We will move on now with a new team, a new attitude and a new stadium."
So in other words, Owens is old and Dallas is done with him. In an official statement Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said:
This is a decision based on consideration for an entire team. We will move on now with a new team, a new attitude and a new stadium."
Although 35 is considered old for an NFL receiver -- unless of course you're Jerry Rice -- Owens still plays a good game. In three seasons with the Cowboys he caught 38 touchdowns and is actually second only to Jerry Rice with 139 career TD catches.

Despite this, it seems no one wants him and fans hate him. 19 NFL teams have already said "Thanks, but no thanks" to the possibility of Owens joining their teams and in an ESPN poll 73 percent of US fans say hell no to T.O. joining their favorite team.
But why? Sure historically he's been a controversial pick with his huge ego and tendency to disrespect and defy team management. Then there was the time he spit in the face of then Atlanta Falcons cornerback DeAngelo Hall. Don't forget about all of his controversial touchdown dances.
Okay, maybe teams are smart to turn him away, but it's obvious he's past all that now. He's older, he cried for his quarterback! He's just a big softy that wants to play some football.
Is this it for T.O.'s career? Take the poll here.
