When Carrie Gets a Date at Therapy
Carrie is having such a hard time with her breakup from Mr. Big that Charlotte, Samantha, and Miranda can’t handle her anymore; they ask her to see a therapist about her problems. Carrie goes on the defense, insulting Miranda by saying she understands why she sees a therapist (since she’s always “in her head”) while declaring that she doesn’t believe in therapy. But in the end, she begrudgingly agrees to see Dr. G, therapist to the stars.
It wouldn’t be Sex and the City without a man, so of course Carrie meets one in the waiting room on the day of her very first therapy appointment. Seth, a photographer, asks Carrie out the second time they bump into each other in Dr. G’s office. Samantha applauds Carrie’s choice, saying, “It’s the crazy ones who have the best pills.”
After a few dates, Seth confesses that he’s in therapy because he sleeps with women and then loses interest in them. Carrie’s suspicions are finally solidified: She picks the wrong men. But really, Carrie should stop making a mockery of mental health issues if she wants to have a successful dating life.
