'Reservoir Dogs'
(1992)
Starring: Tim Roth, Harvey Keitel, Steve Buscemi, Lawrence Tierney, Chris Penn, Quentin Tarantino, Eddie Bunker

Quentin Tarantino's first film is considered a landmark independent film, but it caused quite a stir upon its release in 1992. The language and violence are all very adult, but one scene in particular—involving a gangster, a cop, and an ear—stood out. Tarantino said at the time, "It happens at every single screening. For some people, the violence, or the rudeness of the language, is a mountain they can't climb. That's OK. It's not their cup of tea. But I am affecting them. I wanted that scene to be disturbing."
