The Name Of Pippa Middleton's Baby Has Been Revealed, And It Has A Touch Of Royalty
Pippa named her newborn son after the Duke of Cambridge.
Pippa Middleton gave birth to her first child, a baby boy, last month, and the tot's name has finally been revealed. According to The Mail on Sunday, the couple awarded the baby a three-part moniker, and it has a touch of royalty: Arthur Michael William.
Anglophiles would know that Arthur is the middle name of three renowned royals: Prince Charles, the little one's first cousin, Prince Louis, and his uncle, Prince William. Baby Arthur fits right into this pack, don't you think? Meanwhile, the couple chose the name Michael to pay tribute to James' late brother, who passed away in 1999 during a Mount Everest expedition. It's also reported that James' younger brother, reality star Spencer Matthews, gave the same middle name to his newborn son, Theodore. What's more, Michael is Pippa and Kate Middleton's father's name.
As for William, well, that's pretty clear. It's a sweet nod to Pippa's brother-in-law, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.
Like her sister, Pippa gave birth in the exclusive Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital on October 15. A spokesperson for Pippa and James confirmed the news in a statement.
"James and Pippa have had a baby boy," it read. "He was born Monday 15th October at 1.58pm, weighing 8lb and 9oz. Everyone is delighted and mother and baby are doing well."
At the time, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge congratulated their sister on her arrival.
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are thrilled for Pippa and James," Kensington Palace shared in a short statement.
Now that we have the name of the babe, maybe we can expect a photo soon? We cannot wait!
