Does Meghan Markle Have A British Accent Now?

Meghan Markle is many things: a former actress, a member of the royal family, and the newly-minted Duchess of Sussex. She is now also the proud carrier of a British accent, or something resembling it. In a new video taken on her first solo outing with Queen Elizabeth about a month after her wedding to Prince Harry, the duchess can be heard speaking to fans with what is arguably the slightest tinge of British intonation. I'm not a linguists, but I do know that Madonna would be so proud right now. Also, from what I've heard, people have noticed themselves developing accents after spending an extended period of time abroad, but who knows if that's science. On top of this, E! News reports Markle received royal lessons from the queen's senior palace advisor Samantha Cohen days after the royal wedding. Those lessons could have included accent and tone modification, and how to use more British words.
Overall, being royal seems like seriously hard work. And British accent or not, things could be a whole lot worse...
