Apparently Shakira and Usher May Return to 'The Voice' — Just Not This Fall

(Getty Images)When Shakira confirmed that she would not return for the fifth season of The Voice earlier this week, she was telling the truth — just not the whole truth. According to Entertainment Weekly, the singer is in negotiations to return to the show with fellow new judge Usher, just for a different season.

The powers that be at NBC have not failed to notice the surge in ratings this season, and are reportedly hoping to give viewers both familiar faces and fresher perspectives season after season. So while Christina and Cee-Lo will be back for the fall, they will likely rotate out for the spring in order to make room for Shakira's rubberface and Usher's awe-inspiring cockiness.
