The First Trailer for 'Ant-Man' Raises an Interesting Question
Raptors or ants?
The build up to the first full Ant-Man trailer has been long and overdone. Apparently making a teaser for the teaser to the trailer is a thing Hollywood does now. So now that we've got some real footage, let's just dive in:
For fans who grew skeptical after Ant-Man and Edgar Wright got divorced, the trailer addresses some concerns.
Will Paul Rudd maintain his charming, funny Paul Rudd-iness even though he's playing an ass-kicking superhero? Yes.
Will the action sequences be sweet, even though he's the size of an insect? Yes.
Will the film go the dark, gritty Christopher Nolan route? Definitely not.
But as many questions as the trailer answers, it brings up an even bigger question regarding 2015's summer blockbusters: Would you rather watch a man who's friends with ants or a man who's friends with velociraptors? Tough choices.
Ant-Man hits theaters July 17 (Jurassic World, June 12).
