(VEVO)Okay, Justin Timberlake. We get that it's a super big deal that you're making your return to music after years of Alpha Dog-ing around Hollywood. But seriously, no one releases teasers to lyric videos. Not even Justin Bieber. Jeez. But you do look super hot. Admittedly.
Also in today's music news, One Direction fans can feast their eyes on very white, very British boyband bodies in the new behind-the-scenes clip for their video "Kiss You," 2 Chainz is making an appearance on 2 Broke Girls, Jennifer Lopez has bravely recorded a duet with Andrea Bocelli, Gaga is teaming up with Tony Bennett again, and more.
Tom Ford Is Loving Justin Timberlake Right Now
The lyric video to Justin Timberlake's new song "Suit & Tie" has arrived, and were it not for the words popping and fading about the screen, it'd pass for a legit music video. That, or an advertisement for Tom Ford.
Obviously, Timberlake looks extremely hot in the new video, which depicts him going through the ritual of preparing for a night on the town. Unfortunately, there are no shower scenes involved — perhaps J. Timbs is holding out on the shirtlessness until the official video release, if that's in the cards. But there are interesting moments still, like when the camera lingers on Justin's brand new wedding ring. It's a new era, ladies and gents, and it's very GQ.
One Direction: Now With More Navel
Justin Timberlake may be withholding the mancandy for the moment, but One Direction delivers (to the 14-year-olds, anyway) in the new behind-the-scenes clip for their video "Kiss You." There are several shots of the 1D boys in various states of undress in the three-and-a-half minute video, and for those who don't like One Direction, there's the moment when Niall Horan hits himself in the eye at 1:42. You're welcome.
But Will the Big Booty Hoes Be There Too?
Rapper 2 Chainz will appear on an upcoming episode of 2 Broke Girls, Entertainment Weekly reports. In the episode, which will air the day after the 2013 Grammy Awards, Max and Caroline encounter the rapper on a private plane after a lovestruck record label employee hooks them up with tickets to the awards show.
True and tangentially related story: A friend of mine sat next to Birdman on a flight a few years ago. When she asked him to take a picture with her, he countered, "Only if you give me your number, baby girl." She explained that she was engaged, but he posed for the photo anyway. Afterwards, he sneered at the picture and announced, "Yo' face look fat."
Jennifer, Andrea, and the Language of Love
Andrea Bocelli would likely smash Jennifer Lopez in a vocal competition were they ever to go head-to-head, but they're more interested in joining forces. The pair collaborated on a rendition of the classic Spanish tune "Quizás, Quizás, Quizás" for Bocelli's upcoming album Passione, which debuts at the end of the month. Listen to a sneak preview here.
Bye Bye Mars Volta
Cedric Bixler-Zavala announced the breakup of The Mars Volta in an epically dramatic fashion this week, posting a series of tweets in which he lamented his bandmate Omar Rodriguez-Lopez's decision to form a new band, Bosnian Rainbows. Choice quote: "Am I supposed to do be some progressive house wife that’s cool with watching their partner go f**k other bands?" Read his full statement at NME.
