Remember When Usher and Chilli Were in Love and Made Music Videos Together?

Forget Justin and Britney and their matching denim ensembles, our favorite musical couple of the early '00s had to be Usher and TLC's Chilli. They starred in steamy music videos together, wore ridiculous outifts, and could easily win any celebrity dance-off ever. Sadly, they broke up over a decade ago (ack, we're all old!).

But let's at least revisit those glory days of 2001:

We all have the "U Remind Me" music video to thank for bringing these hot young stars together in 2001. Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas starred in Usher's video and sparks flew, even though they'd already known each other for close to a decade. (They first met in 1993 when Usher signed a record deal at the ripe old age of 14. She was 21 then. Yikes!)

We're guessing it was Usher's fabulous dance interlude in the video that really sealed the deal. Chilli's sexy white crop top and hip chain didn't hurt, either. (See video below.)

Time Together:

Though they haven't dated in over a decade, we'll always have these Usher music videos.

The End:
These two called it quits in early 2004 under some less-than-favorable conditions. At the time, she told People: "He portrayed himself as faithful, and he wasn't. I could never be with him ever again." Usher admitted to his infidelity at the time but denied that he'd fathered a love child, like the rumor mill suggested. Eek.

He said at the time: "I wanted to pack up and move to Los Angeles or New York, and I'm looking for the support of my woman. She wanted more stability. I felt like she wanted to be married.... There are always signs that something isn't comfortable 100 percent. We can ignore [the differences] and keep moving forward, or just let go. I take responsibility for choosing another direction."

The tabloid stories fizzled out, and these two clearly went on their separate ways. He married Tameka Foster in 2007 and had two sons, then they split and went through an ugly divorce. Chilli has never married.

In a 2013 interview, she looked back at the relationship fondly. Funny how a decade will do that. "In any relationship, even when it came to my relationship with Usher, when it was time to make a move, I had to do that," she said. "I don't care how much my heart was hurting, sometimes you're just supposed to be with people for a reason and it's not always a lifetime. Even if you want it to be, it just doesn't work out that way."

Chances of Reconciliation? Slim to none.

However, if Usher, who's supposedly single right now, came knocking, we have a feeling the TLC star would take him back. She said in the same 2013 interview: "But I'll always love him, forever, because he was my first adult love, a real love. But we're cool, we're really cool. There's no hard feelings, nothing like that. It's all good."
