Lady Gaga Wore a Wig and Red Lipstick to the Polar Plunge and It Was Awesome
These snapshots prove, yet again, that Gaga is back on top.
There's cold and then there's jumping into Lake Michigan in March cold — just ask Lady Gaga, her fiancé Taylor Kinney, and Vince Vaughn. These brave celebs participated in the Chicago Polar Plunge Sunday, a charity event benefiting the local chapter of the Special Olympics. (It raised $1.1 million this year, the most in the its history.)
The water was so cold that Gaga said it even froze her fake hair. "My weave froze!! Taylor gave me his hat I thought my wig was gonna freeze into and become one with the lake," the songstress wrote on Instagram with the above snapshot.
Kinney signed up for the event with his Chicago Fire co-stars David Eigenberg, Randy Flagler, Jon Seda and Brian Geraghty, and brought along his bride-to-be as a surprise — this clearly hurt no one's feelings. Vaughn, a Chicago native, made an appearance in a Blackhawks jersey for his plunge after a sweet social media campaign dubbed #VinnyDippin. What a guy!
Lucky for us warm and dry souls, there are tons of pictures going around the Internet from the frigid event. And let the record state that Gaga is the only person who'd ever show up to an event like this in a blond wig and red lipstick (not to mention with her gigantic heart-shaped engagement ring on):
We have to say, between Gaga's amazing Oscar performance last Sunday and the shots of her dancing in ice water from this Sunday, Mother Monster is hot, hot, hot (after she put on a jacket and had some cocoa today, that is).
