When Animals Ride Other Animals, We All Win

The only thing weirder than the Internet is nature.

In the last few months, the Internet has made famous a weasel riding a woodpecker and a raccoon riding an alligator, and today, the latest in animal on animal transportation is a crow catching a lift on the back of a bald eagle (just in time for the 4th of July).

Three of these in a year — that's a trend. So you have to wonder, is this behavior rare, or do things happen all the time in the animal kingdom and we're just realizing it now thanks to the viral nature of the Internet? Some cursory googling revealed it's the latter, but that doesn't make it any less impressive. Let's enjoy some more, starting with the aforementioned weaselpecker and raccoonodile.
