Cuarón's won all the big ones (DGA, Golden Globe, BAFTA) in this category so far. Spike Lee is the sentimental favorite for BlacKkKlansman, but it's not his year. (Too bad, I'd love to hear his speech.) And, don't forget, Cuarón won this award before (Gravity) so we know the voters love him.
