Yahoo's top keywords, Yahoo Mail and Yahoomail.com

Compete.com has a new feature to help track web traffic patterns on popular sites including Yahoo. The search analytics feature lists the top keywords that drive traffic to a particular domain.  In the case of Yahoo.com, the top 5 keywords are:

1. yahoo
2. yahoo mail
3. www.yahoo.com
4. yahoo games
5. yahoo maps

So it's clear that Yahoo relies heavily on email accounts for repeat traffic and member loyalty.  Yahoomail.com gets very little traffic, but the main engine of their email service is mail.yahoo.com and that seems to be cranking.
