The results could easily be museum worthy.
Classic art and contemporary subjects — that seems to be the inspiration behind George Dawe's collection of painted portraits currently climbing the ranks of Reddit. Dawe adopts the neoclassical aesthetic made famous by early-19th century artists like Jacques-Louis David, but instead of digitally painting old dictators like Napoleon, he goes the pop culture route. The clash of subject style is pretty damn cool.
Someone get a hold of the Smithsonian, because here are some new candidates for entry.
