Chancellery Presents Plans For Architectural Extension

(From L to R) Chancellery Minister Helge Braun, architect Charlotte Frank, Federal Office for Civil Engineering and Regional Planning President Petra Wesseler and architect Axel Schultes stand over a model of the design of an extension to the Chancellery on January 15, 2019 in Berlin, Germany. The extension, which would stand opposite the Chancellery across the Spree River, would provide office space for 400 employees and a raised landing platform for a helicopter. Current costs are estimated at 460 million Euros, though as the project is not slated for completion until 2029 the sum could well rise.
