Obama Awards 24 Medals Of Honor For Valor During WWII, Korean And Vietnam Wars

Santiago Erevia are presented after receiving the Medal of Honor from President Barack Obama (R) in the East Room of the White House on March 18, 2014 in Washington, DC. The three retired soldiers were joined by the families of 21 others who were presented posthumously with the Medal of Honor. Following a congressionally mandated review to ensure that eligible recipients were not bypassed due to prejudice the veterans received the Medal of Honor for action during major combat operations in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
