Auschwitz Memorial Commemorates 75th Anniversary Since Liberation

President of Israel, Reuven Rivlin and the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier speak with Holocaust survivor Marian Turski at the International Monument to the Victims of Fascism in the former Nazi-German concentration and extermination camp KL Auschwitz II-Birkenau during the 75th Anniversary of Auschwitz Liberation on January 27, 2020 in Oswiecim, Poland. International leaders as well as approximately 200 survivors and their families are gathering today at Auschwitz today to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the camp's liberation. The Nazis killed an estimated one million people at the camp during the World War II occupation of Poland by Nazi Germany.
