Istanbul's famous Cemberlitas Hammam constructed by Mimar Sinan in 1584 was forced to close for the first time in it's history due to the pandemic. The baths reopened after 73 days on June 1, 2020. As infection rates of the coronavirus continue to drop and after more than a month of weekend lockdowns, Turkey has begun reopening procedures, allowing bars, restaurants cafes and other businesses to open under new restrictions for the first time since March 17. Limited domestic flights have restarted and the stay-at-home curfew for citizens under 20 and over 65 has been eased.
