Jason Bateman Had No Qualms About Going Shirtless for 'Couples Retreat'
Getty ImagesJason Bateman is proud of his toned torso. He bares his chest in the new comedy Couples Retreat, and he claims he wasn't shy about shedding his shirt. He said, "I’m a safe distance away from a six-pack, so the shirt came right off. And the fact that we were all pasty white, that was one of the first scenes we shot in Bora Bora, so we were all pretty white. That helped."
Jason and his Couples Retreat costars.Apparently Jason also wasn't allowed to get some extra color before they started shooting. According to Showbiz Spy, he said, "We were there maybe three days beforehand, and there was a conversation about watch what you do with your free time on the island before we shoot that scene. Like don’t get a sunburn because in the script that’s like the first thing they do when they land on the island. So you can’t look like you’ve been there."
In an interview, Jason also took a dig at himself, and then regretted it: "My torso gives you a great laugh. If you want a bigger one, drop the trousers, I guess. When I say bigger one, I mean bigger laugh. Oh, god."
Couples Retreat stars an ensemble cast including Jason Bateman, Kristen Bell, Malin Akerman and Vince Vaughn.
