R&B singer Chris Brown was praised by a Los Angeles judge on Thursday for making "extremely favorable" progress following his sentence for assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Brown, 20, must now return to court in February for another hearing before Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg, who sentenced the singer to 180 days of community labor in August. Brown has already completed 100 hours of community labor and undergone seven sessions of a domestic violence counseling program, his lawyer Mark Geragos lawyer told the court. At Brown’s first checkup, Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg said she had received “an extremely favorable progress report” on him from the probation department. Chris Brown is following all the rules of his probation and sentence. Judge Schnegg said he provided the court with DNA samples, paid all fines and court fees, performed more than 100 hours of community service and completed seven domestic violence classes to date. At the singer's first checkup hearing since he was sentenced for attacking Rihanna in February, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg said she had received "an extremely favorable progress report" on him from the probation department. Chris Brown has appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom for his first progress report since being sentenced for beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna earlier this year. He was spotted laughing with his lawyer before the hearing, which lasted under 10 minutes. Brown received an “extremely favourable” report from probation officials after completing seven of his 52 domestic violence classes and completing all of his community service hours. Chris Brown is in court today for a progress report hearing. Brown pled guilty to assaulting Rihanna back in June -- and was sentenced to 180 days of hard labor plus a bunch of other stipulations, including one year of domestic violence counseling. UPDATE 2:10 PM PT : All done -- the judge is satisfied -- next progress report hearing is scheduled for February 18. Now this is the way the Tennessee Titans prefer to play defense. Sure, they're still giving up lots of yards. But the Titans finally have gotten back to their defensive formula of sacking quarterbacks and forcing turnovers. They have eight sacks and six turnovers in the past two games -- both wins.
