You have to continuously tell jokes that are funny and you can't leave the stage, even to go to the bathroom." Dane Cook saying something that's probably funny. Instead of the 200 or so Chappelle says he expected, the AP reports that thousands showed up expecting to see a rare show from the reclusive comedian. Funnyman Dave Chappelle failed in his attempt to set a new record for comedy endurance - by walking offstage during his performance to go to the bathroom. The comic took the stage at Hollywood’s Laugh Factory on Sunday in a bid to break the club record for the longest time on stage, previously set by Dane Cook in a seven-hour, 34-minute marathon last year. However, Chappelle’s attempt to outdo Cook failed after five hours when he was disqualified by owner Jamie Masada for taking a bathroom break.
